And the game's overall difficulty is strange, considering how easy the bosses are (since all of them use a variation of the exact same pattern). I understand wanting to have variety for the characters, but their order is way unbalanced. After this you have a character with 5 hit points, then back to 3. In the next stage you still have two hit points, but now you have a ranged attack you can chain to stop anything from even coming near-this is the easiest stage in the game. In the second stage you only have 2 hit points and an annoying Gatling gun attack that activates after every 5 hits unless you intentionally whiff to cancel its charge. The game clearly knows it's difficult (at one point even breaking waves into fractions instead of whole numbers just to aggravate you) but sometimes it's just ridiculous, and somewhat unbalanced too. I will say that the game is just a little too hard, and the only thing that kept me playing sometimes was the knowledge that there were only 5 levels. 60% PCFor as simple as the two-button layout is, they actually get a fair amount of mileage out of it.
